How to Use · CURVA

What is CURVA

CURVA turns any sound into a swerving shot across the stereo field — a football bending through the pitch. Two engines work together: MOVE (the flight: pan · brightness · Doppler) and SAVE (the goalkeeper: a reactive deflection echo). At Mix = 0 CURVA is an exact bypass.

Quick Start

1. Pick a preset for your source — the PRESET menu is grouped by instrument.

2. Bend the shot with Spin; set the flight rate with Speed (click SYNC to lock to tempo).

3. Power is the master intensity — movement depth and drive together, loudness-matched.

4. Raise Save past 50% and the keeper parries the shot into echoes; drag him along the pitch to place the bounce.

5. Blend with Mix — a serial effect-depth control that never combs; 0% is a true bypass.

The Pitch

The flight is the sound: horizontal = pan, height = brightness, climb/dive = pitch. AUTO shapes the path from Spin + Loft; DRAW lets you pencil your own — it may loop, reverse, or cross itself, and it's saved with the session and inside presets. The trash button clears it. Drag the keeper to set where the echo bounces; in Hold mode drag the ball to park the sound anywhere on the path.

Main Controls

Spin (±100) — sign = curve direction, amount = how hard the shot bends. 0 = straight kick.

Loft (±100) — AUTO-mode arc shape: −100 flat drive, 0 arch, +100 rising net-breaker.

Speed — 0.1–20 Hz free, or note divisions (1/1…1/32) with SYNC on.

Power — master intensity: scales Pan/Filter/Doppler depth and the coloration drive.

Mix — effect depth. 0% = exact bypass, whatever the other knobs say.

Save — the keeper: 12–50% is a subtle graze (near-miss flutter), ≥50% a full deflection echo.

Trigger Modes

Move — continuous flights on the LFO cycle (Sine / Tri / Saw in Advanced). Kick — one-shot flights fired by the audio itself: any input hit above Sens launches a fresh shot (a new hit re-kicks mid-flight). Hold — the ball parks at a fixed point: a static pan/brightness color; the keeper sits this one out.

MOVE (Advanced · MOD)

Pan — stereo width of the flight. Filter — brightness follows the ball's height. Doppler — pitch bends with the motion, like a fly-by. Low Anchor — keeps sub-120 Hz mono-safe and un-pitched (bass, 808s, full mixes). Chaos — the striker re-rolls Spin/Loft each shot. Defend — the chance the keeper makes a bonus save each cycle (only adds saves).

SAVE (Advanced · SAVE)

An additive echo — it never cuts the dry. Flight time follows the flight (default); Free is 10–1500 ms; Sync locks to note divisions. Feedback sets the tail (self-limiting, can't run away); Tone shades repeats dark ↔ bright.

Keeper roster (selector above the goalkeeper): Classic natural deflection · Wall one dead thud · Turbo bright fast slapback · Bounce L↔R ping-pong · Phantom long octave-up shimmer with a reverb wash. Switching morphs smoothly, never clicks.

Players

The selector above the striker loads a playing style into Spin/Loft/Power and flavors Chaos: Manual (no style), Curly big banana curves, Rocket flat and hard, Lofty high risers, Jinx the wildcard.

Scenes & Coloration

Dawn / Noon / Dusk / Night change the light on the pitch — and the sound follows it: each scene picks the voicing of the coloration stage (Dawn Luster · Noon Luminescent · Dusk Radiant · Night Dark Essence). Loudness-matched, so you compare tone, not volume. Some presets pin their own voicing.

Presets

30 factory patches grouped by category (Featured, Vocals, Synth & Keys, Guitar, Bass, Drums & Percussion, Pads & Ambient, FX & Transitions, Wildcards) — some ship with hand-drawn shot paths. Save As… stores your state (drawing included) under User; Export… / Import… move presets as files; Default Setting resets.

Tips

  • Drag knobs up/down; double-click resets to default.
  • Vocal throw: Bounce keeper, Save Time Sync 1/8, automate Mix up on the last word.
  • 808 dive: try the 808 Dive-Bomb preset — Low Anchor stays off there so the sub can dive; check mono compatibility. For steady sub-bass, use Sub Anchor (Low Anchor on).
  • Drum bus: Kick mode + a drawn staircase = every hit fires a stepped pattern; keep Doppler low so the kit doesn't detune.
  • No sound moving? Check Mix > 0 and Power > 0 — and in Kick mode, the flight waits for a trigger.
